FIFA 12 vs PES 12

FIFA 12 - Gameplay Trailer

PES 2012 - Gameplay Trailer

Comparing the two videos (if you have watched) you can see a real difference in the two, the graphics of players faces are good on PES, which is really the only good thing about it, if you see on the video, the dribbling is more like done in a robotic way, you can't move freely with the ball and well the passing just looks awful, when you compare it with FIFA, you can see they have put in a lot of effort to make the game as much like the real game, where with tackles, the way the player goes down looks much more realistic in this version of the FIFA series, and I think that FIFA have done a good job again on the graphics, Rooney doesn't look like a massive stocky person no more, he looks more like him in real life. I remember playing PES on PS2 a really long time ago, and I loved playing it, I liked it more than FIFA, because the graphics were better and the game play was good for its time, but now it just seems that PES just haven't changed one bit on their game play, the dribbling is still awful like I said, finishing is incredibly hard again, most probably, and the passing well it just isn’t as good as FIFA, you might say that everything in the game is done robotically, but footballers aren't like that in real life. With FIFA I believe that it is a much improved game, I think they have solved one of their big problems and that was real injuries, defending looks much better from what I have seen from the video, the player impact engine I feel is going to be the best thing about this game, it just looks brilliant and I think that the video shows how good it will be (Look at Cahill's challenge on Rooney (0:50) on the video) All round looks like a really good game, and again even more difficult to use which is what everyone wants. FIFA are also going to introduce the FIFA 12 Ultimate Edition, which currently Game offers for £44.99. The Ultimate Edition includes not just Ultimate Team but it also includes monthly Ultimate Team gold packs, each containing 12 items including players, contracts, stadiums, managers, staff, fitness, healing, footballs, kits and badges. Each pack contains one rare item, such as enhanced player attributes, longer contracts and the most coveted players. So by buying this edition it will give you step up on your competitors, I think it's an idea that I feel should have come a long time ago now, where the game includes Ultimate Team game play, because Madden have now added Ultimate Team for two years on the trot into their game instead of having to make people go through updates. But yet again PES have no answer to this popular game play, they will continue to have random names for team like Merseyside RED instead of Liverpool etc, and will again include rubbish game modes like world tour sort of thing which can I say isn't a real competition.

So that is what the both games include, and I have got to say, I know which football game I will be buying this year and that is FIFA, after playing both games, I still feel the same, and after playing it that one day, I want to play it again, with PES I felt it was very difficult to control, even the person playing against me (who was a PES fan) said that it just isn’t good enough and that FIFA is three times better than PES, and I agree with him, the players was so much easier to control, you can definitely see that EA have concentrated also on players real strengths and weaknesses, like for that day I played as Spurs, and Gareth Bale was quick and good with the ball as he is in real life, with Lennon, even though he was quick he was easily challenged by defenders like we know in real life he isn't a strong player, when you compare that with PES I played as North London Whites (something like that it was), I knew they were Spurs so I made a challenge which one was realistic, in PES, Bale's dribbling skills were impossible to use, as defenders would be in a straight line tackling Bale easily and I was playing against Arsenal (well you know what I mean) and that isn't realistic as Sagna and Clichy are very attacking full backs but not any occasions I saw them attacking just simply in a straight line unless you passed the ball to the 2 full backs, and then Lennon, yes he was quick but he was really strong compared to what he is in real life, but again very hard to dribble with the ball, I realised when dribbling when you turned it moved on a very precise angle, if you turned it a bit to the right it would make a huge and dramatic turn, which I feel isn't realistic at all. On the day we weren't allowed to play any of the game modes as they were both currently working on them, so I can't review the game modes until it comes out. So come back in a couple of months on further reviews on both games.

Overall Winner: FIFA 12

FIFA 12: 9/10
PES 12: 6/10 (Needs to improve dramatically)

What would improve both games?
FIFA - stop the ping pong passes again, yes from playing it that day it feels to me that it was coming back even though they scrapped that in FIFA 11, dribbling could be improved again, introduce more leagues like the Blue Square Conference (it would be good to play as Wrexham), Welsh League etc, and also introduce Wales the National Team onto it and have an international team game mode like the World Cup, Euro Championship etc and the introduction of Europa League and Champions League instead of ECC EFA etc would enhance the reality of the game.

PES - Stop calling teams with random names, improve the game play heavily, introduce real leagues like the Premier League etc and improve the reality of the game instead of concentrating on graphics.

FIFA 12 Release date: (North America) 27/09/2011 (Europe) 30/09/2011
PES 12 Release date: Not confirmed, expected to be October

So FIFA will have an advantage over PES, that there version will be released first.
